The CMS6D164 is widely used in driving three-phase DC brushless motors for applications such as high-pressure fans, high-pressure ceiling fans, and water pumps.
The CMS6D164 is a three-phase, intermediate-voltage, high-speed gate driver IC designed for bridge circuits using dual N-channel VDMOS power transistors or IGBTs. It can be applied in various systems such as brushless DC and brushed DC motor applications.
The CMS6D164 controls the high-side driver output (HO) and low-side driver output (LO) through input signals (HIN, LIN). It features a built-in minimum dead-time of 350ns. If the dead-time set by the microcontroller exceeds the built-in dead-time, the actual dead-time will be determined by the microcontroller’s setting. The IC also includes VCC and VBS undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection to prevent the system from turning on the external power transistors under low driving voltage conditions.
> Floating offset voltage: +200V
> Supply voltage operating range: 5V~20V
